Oh and HERE! Just to list a few.

I’m having today’s tantrum over “Get Paid to Try”

Get Paid to Try
Description:
Earn cash for trying things you like. Complete Your Registration and be eligible for a $20 Bonus!

[BTW PLEASE, BY ALL MEANS, click the link and sign up, I get $0.75 every time you do!]

This morning I get my daily email from Logical Media* [which IS a legitimate businesses]
And in the email there is a link to Get Paid to Try and they tell me I get $0.75 for each person I get to sign up!

Well, hey, getting paid to try stuff out is pretty cool right? Maybe Apple will send me an iPad to ‘Try Out’ that would be just great!

So I scoot on over to Get Paid to Try and sign right up!

Now lets just see who can follow this. Let me know if you get lost.

I signup for Get Paid to Try.

And low and behold I have to pay to try most of the stuff.

So I pick something that looks like I won’t have to hand over my credit card.

WOW Earnings! Get Paid for Reading Emails. I can read emails.

Ok, I signup for WOW Earnings! and guess what?

They will pay me a whole 25 cents MORE to get people to signup for Get Paid to Try

*Logical Media is a Great Company, it really truly is an honest company.
The problem is companies like Get Paid to Try are legitimate companies – sickening as it is.
Logical Media can’t refuse there business because companies like Get Paid to Try have found loopholes in the governments legislation.

However, Get Paid to Try hasn’t credited my account for signing up for WOW Earnings yet – I have a note into ’Support’ I’ll let you know how it turns out.

Pay close attention to each step.

If you’re going to scam people, you need to think about who they are and what their needs are.

1. Pick your Profile group
a) Inner city, high school drop out, single moms.
b) The elderly on a fixed income.
c) Immigrant workers with poor English skills.
d) Pick a race, think about their stereo types and exploit it.
It’s easy to do – Think about your friends on FaceBook, the ones who are always “sharing” known scams, but never know it. They’ll buy into almost anything.
What stimulates Nana to pull out her wallet?
Christian groups are bleeding hearts, low on common sense.
Knocked up at 15 and dropped out of high school – there’s a winner for you.
See how easy it is!

2. Purchase a domain
Many domains can be purchased for $2. Pick a domain which will attract your profile group. Example: “Work At Home For Christian Moms.com” or “Black Sisters Ban Together.com”

3. Then create a website around the attention span and trust level of your profiled group.
Websites are easy to build and many times are free. Keep your profile group in mind.
If you’re going after the elderly, make sure you put lots of pictures of Grandmothers spending money. If it’s the 15 year old drop out, dark backgrounds with glitzy high life and rock stars should to the trick.

4. Signup for every affiliate program on the web
Those are also free. There are hundreds of thousands of affiliate sites out there. But whatever you do, do NOT sign up for the legitimate affiliates. Why? *See Below.
Sign up for just 2 or 3 of those sketchy affiliate groups. Post their links on your site with phrases like “Get money for free” or “I‘ve figured out the system” or “I know how they got rich”
Promise people that you’ll give them a cut every time they sign up for a “survey” that’s actually a credit card offer and you’ll give the a little extra when they get someone else to sign up.

5. Promote!
Find work at home blogs and leave comments with a link to your site.
Go to Craig’s List and post job openings leave a link to your site.
Find FaceBook FanPages for small towns and rural areas and talk about all the money you earn and leave a link to your helpful site.
Find Christian groups in small towns and offer to help them find jobs for their single mom population.

6. Then just sit back and watch the $$ roll in. There’s a sucker born every minute, all you have to do is come up with a list of “Types” of people and what their needs are and you have it made. (Yes, I know it reads 5 easy steps, but this isn’t really a step)

——————————————————————-

Want to know how I know? I’ve done it. I created these sites for clients not knowing how they would be used. In the beginning I didn’t understand the process, I was a new programmer, I knew code, not scams and there are still a few scammer sites out there that bear my name.

There are plenty of legitimate affiliate sites out there. Look around my blog, those are all affiliate links. What’s the difference?

Legitimate Affiliates will NOT allow you to share your income with people who sign up using your link.
Think about it for a minute. You’ll find several affiliate links on my blog for Web Hosting – right?
Now lets say, I tell you, sign up for “Webhosting company X” using my affiliate link and I’ll give you half of what they pay me. You’ll get a month of free hosting, BUT before they charge your credit card, cancel!
WHY Would “Webhosting company X” want to get screwed like that?
WHY Would “Webhosting company X” pay me to bring them business only to get the rug pulled out from under them?
THEY WOULDN’T!!

No legitimate company is going to tell you to get people to sign up, just to have the person cancel before their credit card is charged – They Wouldn’t Make Any Money!

Want further proof?

Below is a screenshot of Logical Media a Legitimate Affiliate Site.
Let me point out a few things ……
a) Underlined in RED “No Incentives“. If I promise you a buck if you signup, Logical Media will drop me.
b) See the payout? $4.25 a lead. That is 4 dollars and 25 cents for every person who signs up with a legitimate product sourcing site. Synovate works with product development companies to find people to test products before they go on the market.
Do you know how many people sign up using my link? A LOT!
Do you think I’m going to risk even a penny of it? NO WAY!

Logical Media doesn’t pay me in points or even pennies, they pay me in big fat checks for referring people to companies for extended periods of time.

But we’re looking to run a scam right? So ignore that, you don’t want to sign up with legitimate affiliate sites, because once you get caught scamming people you’ll have to go through your site and remove all their links.

Today I received an email from Mr. Brad (no last name?) informing me that he is the owner of ZNZ. By the gist of his email I think Mr. Brad may feel that I have been unfair to his company.

It hurts me to know that someone may think I am UnFair.
And since my previous post was created solely to stop a woman from scamming my fellow Mainers, I feel it only fair to give his email a fair shake.
And in all fairness, I have taken down my previous post to allow all of you to draw your own conclusions. (You can read Mr. Brad entire email below)

If you read my previous post you may be shock when I tell you everything in Mr. Brad’s email is true.

*It is a legitimate business (sadly)
*There are thousands of them on the web
*He can’t monitor all of the users all time
*ZNZ does not gather the actual credit card information (at least not that I can find)
*And according to Mr. Brad their policy is that they do not sell your information.

What is not being said is how it works and to better explain that, I’m going to walk you through the process step by step.

I went to zipnadazilch.com (Ugly theme, but I digress)

Look at the header – I can have anything I want for Zip Nada Zilch?
It says so right there, first thing you see.

Looky there, #1, I do want some extra cash! Cash for Zip Nada Zilch – well that’s free money!

There’s a roll of cash – I want that roll of cash! And to get it, I just need to do three simple steps to participate!

And look – after I sign up if I refer friends, they are also going to give me free gifts! Free Cash and Gifts!! WOW!!

Let me just plugin all my information there, they need to know where to send me those gifts, because I’m going to tell everyone where to get the free cash!

Ok one more step to my free cash!

Well that’s peculiar isn’t it? They want me to signup for offers to get my free cash?
Isn’t it supposed to be FREE?

Scrolling down through them and most of them are reputable companies – looky there, WalMart! Well, I know Walmart is a VERY Reputable company and there is a FREE $25 gift card that’s going to cost me $2.98? WHAT? Where’s the free cash?

This is where I kinda get stuck on the honestly part, they told me I could have anything I wanted for Zip Nada Zilch and now they’re telling me that I have to pay $2.98 for a FREE Gift Card – how does that make sense?

(BTW Mr. Brad that page 5 link, in the green box, didn‘t work)

Now I have to signup for a credit card in order to get free money?
Credit cards aren’t free money?

And to get a credit card, you have to give things like your social security number – right?

I click the link and through the power of the web I’m arrive at a “Profinity” website, were I need to hand over my information to obtain the credit card, which will cost $2.98 and I will receive only receive .25 credits to go toward my 1.00 credits I need to get that large roll of cash!

Side Note: Profinity is a WHOLE OTHER BLOG POST. Just go to Google.com and type Profinity you’ll see what I mean.

What it comes down to is this, (sadly) ZNZ is a legitimate business.
I’m sure they pay taxes and I have every reason to believe they send out the referral cash and prices. But how much does it Cost YOU to get FREE stuff?

But do you know what aggravates me the most about this?
While sitting at my kitchen table, writing posts, trying to protect people from Affiliate Schemes pays Zip Nada Zilch! I rarely make a profit off any post. Mr. Brad knows that. I can’t imaging he’s all that worried that my little website will ever reach anyone. There could be possibly 100 people who will read this post and most of those will leave comments telling me that I’m a wicked person and that they make good money with ZNZ so it can‘t possibly be a scam, because as we all know no one actually makes money with scams – eye roll.

So here you go: http://paypal.zipnadazilch.com/index.php?referral=375557
That’s my ZNZ affiliate link. Click it. See for yourself. Get all that free cash – hey, you’ll be doing me a favor. Please do it! I could use the money.

Please Note: that I am complying with ZNZ terms, I have been completely honest with you.
I also took most of what I have told you from the Terms and Conditions – I suggest you read them.

I could go on, but there is really no point, either you’re going to go for it or your not. I’ve given you my side of the story, now you can read Mr. Brads.

From: Brad
Subject: Regarding a Recent Post of Yours

Message Body:
Hi there!

I would have much rather e-mailed you directly in regards to this, but unfortunately I was not able to find an e-mail address on your website so this will have to do. First off, I’d like to let you know who I am. I am the owner of ZipNadaZilch.com, a website you recently portrayed as a scam on the following post:

http://stuckathomemom.com/featured/latest-online-employment-scam-zipnadazilch

The first thing I would like to point out is that we do not condone users to portray our website as any sort of employment, job, etc. Doing so is strictly against our advertising guidelines and depending on the severity, could result in the user being banned immediately from our website. Our website is what’s called a referral-based incentive website, and there are hundreds if not thousands of websites out there just like ours that are legitimate, we are just among the most popular.

While we do our best to monitor how our users are gathering their referrals, it is unfortunately impossible to monitor everything which results in situations like this where our users are doing something prohibited to gather referrals. We also do not receive or ask for any credit card details as it’s completely free to sign up for an account on our website and always will be. It is true our advertisers do ask for that information, but the offers on our website are very reputable companies that will not sell a users credit card information as we do not add offers that are sketchy or questionable. I would also like to point out we do not sell any users information, as it is strictly stated within our Privacy Policy we do not.

Still, I can definitely understand your skepticism, after all there are a lot of scams out there nowadays. However, we’ve been in business for nearly 5 years without having any major problems and other incentive sites have been around for even longer. We’ve shipped out more than $3,500,000.00 in prizes to our users over the last 5 years and are well known as we’ve worked very hard to get to where we are now.

Regardless of the above, I would kindly like to request the three links you removed within your post so we can identity the user in question on our website and look into this further. The links would be the ones under “Enter & Apply here:”, “Here is the ZNZ website with Questions and Answers:” & “Here is the ZNZ Facebook Page (just opened today):”. These links will help us look into this users account, how they are gathering their referrals, etc and so appropriate action can be taken.

Rather or not you choose to truly look into how our website works and update your post accordingly is up to you, but I did have to contact you as I don’t like false information to be spread about my website, especially when false statements like our advertisers will sell the users credit card information is made. Even if you choose to keep your post as-is, I will have to kindly request those three links so we can look into the users account, as without that, we have no way of stopping her from violating her rules, if she is.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards,
Brad
*****************************************************

Update 3/31/12
I am going to close the comments because of rude comments.
Rule of thumb, if you’re going to lie and you want your comment posted, don’t insult the intelligence of the blogger or the others who have left comments.
Comments left in a civil tone, I have approved. But comments in CAPS which try to justify credit card fraud, I have not.

I will NOT allow bullying on my blog. We are supposed to be adults, act like it and I will open the comments again. Keep it up and it is easier to just block your IP – which by the way is tracked and has been handed over to the authorities.

Why is this a repost?
Because apparently people are still falling for this – so I feel the need to repeat.

Here is how it works:
The ad reads something like “You can earn between $500.00 and $10,000 working part time from your kitchen table stuffing envelopes for our company. All supplies are mailed to you and you will be paid before you ever send out your first letter. A small deposit is required to register you in our database and as a deposit for your office supplies.”
You send them $40 for supplies – the “deposit”. They send you a packet of information that has been copied 500 times and looks like crap.
The packet of information, usually 10 to 15 pages which tells you how to make the scam work.
1, you make copies of the “packet” of <del datetime="2012-01-07T20:27:14+00:00">crap</del> information they sent you.
2, Then you turn around and write an advertisement for “a stuffing envelopes job” and post it in newspaper or online.
3, when someone takes the bait and sends you the $40.00, you send them the same “packet” of information. And around and around it goes.
It gets better with today’s technology, scammers can advertise online and send you digital information, they don’t even have to mail you the information any longer, saves on postage.

How do I know this is a scam? 15 years ago, this scam was only $20 and I have a rule, if it’s only $20 – get it!

This scam is run 2 ways, they may only send you one of the two way, but I’m going to tell you both.

The letter you received (or one like it)

The first scam: Mailing the “Get Credit Now” booklet.

Here’s what happens.
1) You send MGE $49 of your hard earned bucks.
2) They send you the Manual, you also receive one VERY expensive stapler, and the information you’ll need to send out.
3) You open the manual and start to read.
The manual tells you how to create the scam. The manual tells you how to advertise, where to get mailing lists, whom to target.
You are told to copy the information, run the ads and as people send you checks, cash and money orders you start sending them out the manuals.
4)But they say “We’ll Pay” – get paid before you send anything out?
They don’t lie when they tell you you will be paid before you mail out any of the packets. They also tell you that you will only need to staple as many packets that you need to mail for them and that’s the truth, if you never advertise, you’ll never send anything out.

Keep reading there’s more to these scams.

The second scam: How to RUN this scam.

Here’s what happens.
1) You send MGE $49 of your hard earned bucks.
2) They send you the Manual, which btw, isn’t going to be stapled together – but we’ll get to that in a minute. You also receive a stapler – one VERY expensive stapler I may add. And that’s all you need!
3) You open the manual and start to read.
The manual tells you how to create the same scam you have just fallen for. The manual tells you how to advertise, where to get mailing lists, whom to target. It’s not stapled together so you can make copies and run the same scam.
4)But they say “We’ll Pay” get paid before you send anything out?
They do say that they will pay you and I’m pretty sure if you want to court on that you’d win and get your $49 bucks back. Of course it will cost you about $100 in small claims court fees and they are betting that since its only 49 bucks and you won’t want to admit you were that stupid, you won’t take them to court.
They don’t lie when they tell you you will be paid before you mail out any of the packets. They also tell you that you will only need to staple as many packets that you need to mail for them.

I am on every target list that scammers use. I’m on every mailing list, every new scammer is going to get my name/address and send me their form letter. I on all those mailing and email lists because I constantly look for online jobs so I can report on them and keep people from falling for these type of scams.

I know you’re saying but, but, but. Why don’t people just get their money back? Do you really think they are going to send you your money back? You send them a check, they now have your checking account number. There’s a good chance that your checking account is now empty. Or you sent them cash, so what you have proof of delivery, who are you going to whine too? Or you sent them a money order, how do you plan to stop payment on that?

Ask yourself a few questions:
How did they randomly get your name for this?
How do they know you’re responsible enough to actually send out those booklets?
If you owned this company would you pay a perfect stranger $20 to staple one 17 page booklet? And if you did, would you pay them BEFORE they shipped the booklets? I don’t know about you, but I’d staple booklets for $5 a booklet if I could do 50 to 100 booklets a week. Wouldn’t you? Doesn’t $20 seem a little extreme?

Reread the twp page letter again, everything I say makes sense, doesn’t it.

—————————————————————————

Here is how it works:
The ad reads something like “You can earn between $500.00 and $10,000 working part time from your kitchen table stuffing envelopes for our company. All supplies are mailed to you and you will be paid before you ever send out your first letter. A small deposit is required to register you in our database and as a deposit for your office supplies.”
You send them $40 for supplies – the “deposit”. They send you a packet of information that has been copied 500 times and looks like crap.
The packet of information, usually 10 to 15 pages which tells you how to make the scam work.
1, you make copies of the “packet of information” they sent you.
2, Then you turn around and write an advertisement for “a stuffing envelopes job” and post it in newspaper or online.
3, when someone takes the bait and sends you the $40.00, you send them the same “packet” of information. And around and around it goes.
It gets better with today’s technology, scammers can advertise online and send you digital
information, they don’t even have to mail you the information any longer, saves on postage.

To setup a PayPal sellers account and eBay sellers account you must have a credit or debit card (trust me on this one I’ve had 5 or 6 accounts in my time)

This means if a customer uses a stolen credit card or claims they did not receive their package, regardless if you have delivery confirmation, paypal will remove the funds from your account, leaving you without the item and payment.

If you do not have enough funds in your paypal account, paypal will deduct the payment from your checking account at will.

You MUST protect yourself from PayPal and eBay at all costs, here’s how:

1) Get a GreenDot credit card. The smallest amount is $30 with I think a $5 activation fee. YOU CAN USE THE $30 LATER – DON’T WORRY.

2) Once you have the GreenDot credit card use that card to setup your PayPal and eBay sellers account and let them verify the account using that card. Once they have verified the account use the remaining balance.

3) Get the PayPal debit card. Once your customer has paid you remove the funds at any ATM, leaving only enough to pay your eBay fees.

4) Setup more than one PayPal account this way using different GreenDot credit cards. This way once a customers pulls a scam, you can remove that PayPal account from your eBay account and you will have another ready and waiting.

5) Never give your Checking or Savings account number to PayPal or eBay.

6) Use one eBay/PayPal account for purchasing and 2 or more for selling.

7) Whenever possible, invoice your customers using PayPal, do not use eBay’s PayPal check out. If receive just 1 negative feedback, PayPal may with hold payment for up to 21 days. You are expected to send the item, however you may not receive the funds for almost a month.

eBay and PayPal are looking out for their best interest, shouldn’t YOU?
