<strong>[Those are AdSense Ads. I have no control over what Google puts there. People know they are Ads just by looking at them.]</strong>

Thanks for being a "watchdog" for us folks trying to avoid getting ripped off by unscrupulous offers.
One thing that you might want to consider, though, is taking those ads off your site like "Online Jobs Earn $1,000.00" which told me I could earn that be entering simple contests.
I realize they are Ad Choices ads but their presence on your site gives them legitimacy (especially since you expose schemes that those ads promote).
Keep up the good work!

Love your name Stuck@Home Mom! I was looking for a new wordpress theme since mine just crashed twice today. So happy to see you complaining about the Thesis Theme! I am so mad that I actually paid for that thing! Ugh! I'm trying to set up a website to go with my shop.

[Admin: The date on this post is 2 years old. Technology changes. Sorry.]

This is a new site - and the blogger interface in nothing like the one you describe above. When I go to upload an xml file, there is no upload button - so your tutorial is in need of updating. Any thoughts?

Congrats Triberr bud! It's exciting to see your PR and other metrics go up, whether the metrics are measuring something great or leave you scratching your head! Many blogs NEVER go beyond a 1 or 2, even with regular posting - so that says something!

eDee:

Thanks for sharing your rules with us. I recognize that we should be using Triberr to share posts, but I also share posts directly from their website. Does that count?

Damond

[<strong>It counts in the way that you're a good person :) but it's not recorded in your Triberr count unless you share them from your Tribal Stream.</strong>]

Congratulations eDee!

But Triberr has hardly anything to do with your blog's PR rank. PR rank is one of the most misunderstood metrics in web development. People think that it has something to do with where you'll rank in search (nope), that it is a measurement of how many backlinks you have pointing towards your domain (not entirely), and this is a first - that Triberr somehow increases your Page Rank (In no way directly, and only in indirect ways that could be achieved by every single other form of promotion).

PageRank's primary purpose now is to schedule the bots to crawl your site. Sites with PR 10 will get crawled multiple times per day. Blogs with PR 1 may get crawled once per week.

SO what increases your page rank? Regular updates. Not just regular updates, but regular updates of exclusive, substantial, and verifiably relevant content. The longer you regularly post fresh content, the better your PR will be. Traffic helps some, age helps some. PR is more about your actual blog than it is about how many backlinks, social shares, or anything else other people's actions cause.

Page rank will not move you up in search results - primarily, it's just going to get your site crawled more. That, and lots of people attach all kinds of mystical properties to it that just aren't true anymore. It's the most misused form of Social Proof on the net. You'll get more guest blog inquiries with a PR 4 blog.

People sell PR 8 backlinks on Fiverr - they can do that because as 10 people buy them a day, they write 10 350 word articles. Google bots know there is fresh content there everyday, so they set the PR high so it gets crawled often. All of the articles are spam pieces that are just written to include a link (and charge 5$).

Something interesting - SMS is also PR 4 now. We opened on 2/29/2012, but have posted an article every weekday since then with very few exceptions.

<strong>[ADMIN: lol PR means practically nothing, unless you're looking for paid gigs.
Take my site for example - it's a site about nothing, it provides no service, fulfills no need, it's filled with spelling mistakes and atrocious grammar - I don't even post every day!
But I have gotten to a PR of 4 without using meta tags, site description, keywords or hoyte toyte SEO tricks or plugins. It's the challenge!
I made it to 4 with Triberr and tricks I make up as I go along.
My goal was a PR of 3, just to say I did it once again - I over shot it by 1 lol
On to my next project!]</strong>
