The 52 Week Money ChallengeIt’s Week 8!
And I think this is the week I move the jar from the middle of the living room into … mmmm maybe a back bedroom.
I know we’re only up to $36, but the price of gas keeps going up and I think it may be best if I just put it away.

Once we get around $100.00 I’ll bring it to my dad’s and lock it in his safe! $100.00 isn’t a lot of money, but if some wacko knows you have it sitting around the house and that wacko hasn’t had a ‘hit’ in 10 hours …. well, anyway, I’ll feel safer if it’s not in the house.

I fill it every 2 weeks on pay day…so far I have only had to dip in it once for garbage money… looking forward to accomplishing this…

I am starting this tomorrow. I just printed out our sheet. Now I just need a jar. I’ll have to go to the $1 store tomorrow and see what I can find. Bob and I decided we would split the price each week. I am not sure what we will do with the money. Bob thinks we will spend it before the end of the challenge. Now I KNOW I won’t just because he said that..LOL

I think the idea is great, but…. Wouldn’t it make more sense to work it backwards? In January start with the large amounts then by Christmas you would not only be putting less in as you have more expenses, you could pay for Christas with cash and then put the rest into savings. With no holiday bills, you can afford the larger amounts in January. Nicer cycle.

My friend did this but instead of going exactly by the list she would jump around and just highlight the ones she had done. That way if this week you had a little more money you could go ahead and knock out one of the bigger money weeks. Maybe you knew that coming up next week would be a little bit tighter so you planned on doing a smaller amount. Still worked the same for her. She saved over a $1,000!
