The best posts that we do for StuckatHomeMom are the ones that include a field trip! On Friday I went to my local Shaw’s with my daughter and my lead writer, Stephanie. We were there to check out the buzz about Shaw’s new MyMixx app. We had a great time and have a lot to share with you. We were doing our regular weekly shopping, and we could not believe how fun the MyMixx app made the process!
Before I left home I had set up the free Shaw’s app. You download it, then create your personal account. Then the fun begins. Navigation is simple and logical. Shaw’s offers digital coupons in every area of the store. You can sit at home and “clip” coupons, which puts them into your “clipped coupon” section of the app. You can add these items to your shopping list. You can also view what items are on sale each week without a coupon, and also add these to your shopping list. All foods are listed by category and are easy to find. If you are using #MyMixx at home, you can log in through the Shaw’s website to clip coupons and add to your shopping list.
Couponing had become just a memory to me – I used to love to take a leisurely look through the newspaper, clip the coupons I wanted to use, and take them to the store with me. That all ended when my children were born. Then my goal was to get in and out with the least amount of chaos possible. MyMixx makes couponing a reality for me again. It could not be simpler.
Stephanie had not had a chance to download the app before we started our shopping trip, so she downloaded the app while we stood in the produce section – it was THAT simple. Then she began to explore. I had already played around with the app quite a bit, so I was amused at her reaction. Every new section she went to was “the coolest thing” she had ever seen.
Then we started our shopping. The shopping list made it so much easier to get everything that we needed without forgetting anything. Instead of writing my list on an old envelope and losing it, I made my list out ahead of time on my phone, which is with me all the time.
After we finished our shopping, we headed to the registers. The cashier was very helpful and walked us through the ridiculously simple checkout process. Before anything was rung up, I entered my phone number, which is my ID for MyMixx. The cashier rang everything up, and the register automatically applied the coupons that were in “Clipped Coupons” on my phone. It was so fun! I didn’t have to bring my folder of coupons, flip through them, and find the ones that applied to what I had purchased. I didn’t have to worry about trying to use an expired coupon. I didn’t have to do a thing. The register did it all for me, and I saved quite a bit of money in the process. The coupons were removed from the app after I used them, and the ones that I had clipped for items I have not yet purchased remained available to me.
I cannot emphasize enough how much easier MyMixx has made my shopping experience. I can do all of my planning at home beforehand, and my trip through the store was so much easier and quicker than normal. I am even able to use coupons again to save money. I will definitely be using MyMixx in the future.
