Double Layer Potholder Crochet Pattern
Without fail you will always have some leftover yarn. Because I use dishrag yarn for tutorials (makes crochet easier to see) I typically have countless small balls of the stuff hanging around. What do you do with left over yarn? Make double sided potholders. This potholder pattern 2 ply thick and made all at once. Though I’m not sure I would actually use the potholder to take something out of the oven it is great to put a hot pot or cooking dish on to cool.
I am using left over Peaches & Cream yarns and possibly Sugar & Cream yarn – I didn’t realize there was a difference until 10 minutes ago. Apparently I have used them interchangeably as if there was only one and I was just calling it by the wrong name.
Yarn: Peaches & Cream/Sugar & Cream
Hook: G 6
(Typically the Cream yarns suggest an H hook, either will work. )
sc = single crochet
ch = chain
To start: ch 40
Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and in each ch, 2 sc in last ch.
Row 2 – done: sc in each sc below it until the edges touch.
Using a needle with a wide enough opening for yarn, sew the edges together.
Fasten off.
