Let me just say now, I do not like cooking. Baking, I like when I’m in the mood, but cooking meals – not so much.
It’s not that I don’t want to cook for my family, I do, I want to make good healthy meals.
I hate bugs, they creep me out. I don’t like to see them, smush them or even believe they exist. But not as much as my oldest daughter, who is absolutely terrified of anything with wings, including butterflies. More disturbing is that my youngest daughter will eat them if give a chance.
Riley: Mom, I want this?
Me: No – 1
Riley: But I don’t have this is blue.
Me: No – 2
Riley: Moooom, (aggravated sigh) what are you doing?
I’ve been feeling like I haven’t been doing anything for our world.
Yes, I’m finishing our house, sanding dry wall, painting, plus running the kids here there and everywhere, but I don’t feel like I’m doing enough.
A while back on NBC Nightly News I saw a Making a Difference report on “Little Dresses for Africa”.
The short story is, a woman went to Africa, saw a need and even though she couldn’t sew decided to make a difference.
1 . You cannot stick your tongue out and look up at the ceiling at the same time, a physical impossibility due to the tendons within your neck .
2 . All idiots, after reading #1 will try it .
Growing up I watched my mother make meals for people in our church who had lost a loved one or had fallen ill. She could whip these things up in an hour and would drag us along to deliver them. The meals were always warmly received and I imagined myself one day doing the same.
HOWEVER – mother forgot a few things….. like teaching us how to cook! Not to mention, where the HELL did she find the time?
If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.
(Hardly seems worth it..)
If you farted consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb.
(Now that’s more like it!)
The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet.
