eos Lip Balm Cozy Free Crochet Pattern

eos Lip Balm Cozy Free Crochet Pattern

My daughter loves eos Lip Balm. I’m not sure why. eos are round and bulky, they don’t slip in a pocket easy. Sure they’re cute, but that’s about it.

In an attempt to make carrying the eos easier I created a cozy that will hang from a key chain. I found a few eos cozy patterns online, but the directions were a mess. I combined a few of the patterns together and came up with my own.

Yarn Caron Simply Soft – Fuchia
Hook E4/3.5mm

Stitches:
sc = single crochet
ch = chain
** = repeat

Level of difficulty – Stupid Simple

Note: If you use thicker yarn you will need fewer rows. For example if you use the typical Red Heart yarn you may need to eliminate Row 6. Always measure around the eos for the sizing.

Row 1: in a magic circle sc 6

Row 2: *2 sc same space, 1 sc next space*

Row 3: *2 sc same space, 1 sc next 2 spaces*

Row 4: *2 sc same space, 1 sc next 3 spaces*

Row 5: *2 sc same space, 1 sc next 4 spaces*

Row 6: *2 sc same space, 1 sc next 5 spaces*

Row 7: *1 sc in each space*

Strap
Row 8: ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each of the next 5 spaces

Row 9 – 23: repeat Row 8 (measure around the eos Lip Balm to ensure that the strap is the correct size. If you use thicker yarn you will need fewer rows.)

Button hole
Row 24: ch 1, turn, sc in next space, ch 3, skip 3 sc for the row below, 1 sc in last space

Row 25: slip stitch into next space, 1 sc in next 3 spaces, slip stitch into last space.
Fasten off. Weave tail up the strap.

Sew key chain to middle of strap so it sits at the very top of the eos. Use eos to measure spacing.
