Nestle Valentines Day
I know, Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but I didn’t receive my package from Nestle until the day before – and Thank God I did. With the impending snow storm on my mind and the baking I had to do for the girls classroom parties, I had completely forgotten to pickup a package of Valentine’s cards for the girls to make out for their friends.
Luckily Nestle had included a package of Valentine’s Day cards with Nerds!
We ripped open that box and made out those cards before bed. Each card had a little holder that popped out which very securely holds a package of mystery nerds.
It was all going so smashingly until the snow hit and school was canceled, but luckily Nestle also included some yummy Nestle Crunch and Nestle Butterfinger Chocolate Hearts! So I whipped up some Rice Krispie – Krispie Kritters and put a chocolate heart on the top of each.
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
4 cups miniature marshmallows ( OR 1 – 10 oz. package (about 40) regular marshmallows)
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
Half bag of Chocolate Chips
Half bag of Butterscotch Chips
1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
2. Add Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated.
3. Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares.
….. after eating through half of the Krispie Kritters it hits us! We should make Valentine’s with the giant bag of candy that Nestle sent us!!
I went down the basement and grabbed the old Sizzix, some scrapbooking paper and our stock of goodie bags. After trying out several designs we came up with taking die cut tag and folding over a goodie bag full of candy.
But we couldn’t stop there. I did a little online searching for Valentine’s card printouts and came across Creative Mamma.com
She had a great printable that I chopped up and turned around to create a goody bag topper the fit perfectly.
