I saw the image of the Crochet Buttons (below) on FaceBook and HAD to try it. Which would have been easy except that the image doesn’t link to anything and all directions found online were in Italian.
So after watching countless YouTube videos and using Google Translate several times I have come up with directions in English.
As always if you are an expert the first directions are for you.

Needle: Size 6/1.80MM
Button Size: 3/4” (19MM) gag ch 4
7/8” (22MM) gag ch 5
NOTE: Expert pattern written for 3/4” button.
Everyone else pattern written for 7/8” button.
Expert:
Row 1 : sc in the 1st button, ch 4, sc in the 2nd button hole, ch 4, sc in the 3rd hole, ch 4, sc in the 4th hole, ch 4, sc in the 1st hole, ch 4, sl st to the 1st sc.
Row 2 : *sl st, hdc, 4dc, hdc, sl st * repeat X4 , sl st to the 1st sl st, finish off or add a row of sl st alternating color all the way around.
Everyone else:
Row 1 : sc in the 1st button, ch 5, sc in the 2nd button hole, ch 5, sc in the 3rd hole, ch 5, sc in the 4th hole, ch 5, sc in the 1st hole, ch 5, sl st to the 1st sc.
Row 2 : *sl st, hdc, 4dc, hdc, sl st * repeat X4 , sl st to the 1st sl st, finish off or add a row of sl st alternating color all the way around.
