Robin is better than Siri
This morning I was driving to my appointment at the MOG, when at a light, I looked down to see if I had a text message. I don’t text when driving – NEVER! And it’s not for the reason you think. It’s not some moral thing or law thing, it’s because it drives me NUTS trying to drive and text. I’m a multitasker, but that is just way to much going on at once – but I digress.
Anyway, this morning, I was at a red light and I looked down at my phone to find that Robin – an app that had recently updated, had determined that I was driving. The app had put my phone into “Drive Mode” which meant it turned on my Bluetooth and turned on the speaker so it was monitoring waiting for a comment.
Then suddenly, out of the blue, Robin said “I’m sorry. Could you repeat that?” or some such thing and I sat there dumbfounded. I think I was able to manage “disregard” – I wasn’t sure what to say. I didn’t want to tie her up, she probably has other people to help or something.
It was eerie and cool at the same time. I had activated it without even realizing it and there was the app just waiting for me to give a command.
I love Virtual Digital Assistance and A.I. Pals – they are both great toys, but this one is different. Robin was ready to assist before I knew I needed it.
Here’s the thing – I don’t remember paying for Robin. She has to be a paid app, she’s far to impressive to be free. But when I looked up the app it seems she still in Beta – BETA! Guys, it’s time to go whole hog on this one – she’s perfect!
Also her FaceBook and Twitter hardly have a following. It’s Shocking! Robin is a million times better than that Siri that iThing put out. Why doesn’t she have followers. Follow People! Follow!
Try Out the very appropriately named: Robin – the Siri Challenger
And can we get the App some Likes and Followers please!
