Confessions from a not so chemically free mom

My husband and I are doing our best to be “organic”. It’s slow going and expensive, but for the most part we are making it work.

A few weeks ago I was on the phone with my non-organic sister confessing my guilt at purchasing a harsh chemical cleaner for our bathroom. I felt so guilty I had stuck it way in the back of the linen closet as if to cover my sin.
Hoping to receive some sort of absolution I defended my purchase by saying, “I wouldn’t have purchased the cleaner if the natural clears could get rid of the mold.”
Without missing a beat, my sister replied “If you cleaned your bathroom before you could -see- the mold you wouldn’t need a harsh cleaner.”

I don’t know which is sadder, that fact that she was right or the fact I’d never thought of it.
Sure enough if one cleans ones shower before pink mold appears, one does not need harsh chemical cleaners.
